The hospital waiting room was filled with a sense of dread. James, a doctor, was waiting to hear news about a patient. Suddenly, the lilting tune of "Healing Hands" – his song – filled the sterile air. A young volunteer was playing it on a portable keyboard.

James felt a softening in his jaw. The frantic rhythm of his heart slowed to a more regular pace. His shoulders fell. He felt his head lift, as if he had been buried under water and finally emerged for air.

He approached the volunteer. “That's my song,” he said, his voice quiet. The volunteer smiled and nodded. James felt a surge of hope, a sense of quiet reassurance.
