Gemotions

The air in the library, normally stuffy, felt alive with possibility. Daniel had stumbled upon a forgotten corner while organizing a donation. He felt… vibrant. He picked up a worn box labeled “Family History” and began to open it. Inside were photographs – his great-great-grandmother, a woman who’d always been described as a frail invalid, was captured in a photograph with a group of friends, all dressed in daring, modern attire. They were on the beach, laughing with the wind in their hair. The accompanying note was from his great-great-grandmother's own hand: "The best summer of my life."

He closed his eyes for a moment, an unexpected warmth spreading through him.
