Sarah took a deep breath, the crisp air of the restaurant filling her lungs. The buffet table shimmered under the chandeliers, and the scent of roasted meats made her stomach rumble in a good way. She’d spent all day at the spa and her muscles felt loose. She sauntered to the podium, a glint in her eyes. "So, Dad," she began, her voice taking on a teasing lilt, "Thirty years! Thirty years of paperwork, deadlines, and… well, let’s just say *interesting* office politics. You've survived it all." A laugh bubbled up from within her, easily. She was utterly buoyant.
