The champagne felt fizzy on Arthur's tongue. He tapped the microphone, the sound echoing slightly in the banquet hall. He looked at his father, a man he'd often seen stressed and tense, now relaxed and laughing. The years of long hours and demanding clients seemed to have melted away from his dad’s face, and that seemed to have a similar effect on Arthur. "Dad," he started, a lightness in his voice he hadn't known he possessed. "I've witnessed your dedication firsthand. It's been inspiring.” He felt weightless.
