Gemotions

Liam pushed the elevator button, a wide, easy smile on his face. He felt like he could run a marathon. He glanced at Sarah, who was staring fixedly at the closing doors, a look of utter bewilderment on her face. "You alright?" he asked, his voice full of an energy he rarely possessed before his morning coffee.

He felt the concrete of the lobby, and he took a second to look around at the brightness. The florescent lights seemed a bit too bright, and he had to squint, but it felt good. The stale air of the elevator, with its mechanical hum and the scent of recycled metal, was gone.

He patted his pockets, his fingers searching for his phone. There were emails to respond to, calls to make. He was ready.
