Gemotions

The world seemed to have gained color for Daniel. The fluorescent lights of the office didn't glare, the stale air didn't weigh him down. He actually smiled as he passed by Brenda in the hallway, something he rarely did before. He felt a hum of energy coursing through him.

He arrived at his desk and his eyes flickered over the numerous projects he was tackling, but they didn't seem so daunting. The mountain of paperwork, which usually triggered a wave of nausea, instead presented a challenge, a series of problems to be solved. He felt a sense of anticipation.

He heard his name over the intercom. He was being called to Mr. Henderson’s office to talk about the promotion. He strode towards the office, his back straight, shoulders relaxed. His head was held high. He knew he was the best person for the job.
