Gemotions

The tightness in his chest, the constant knot of anxiety, was gone. He took a deep breath, relishing the expansion of his lungs. He felt like he could leap tall buildings. His usual lethargy had vanished, replaced by an energy that buzzed beneath his skin. He grabbed his coat and hurried outside, eager to experience the world.

He bumped into a woman on the street, both of them dropping their belongings. As they helped each other gather the scattered items, they exchanged a look of understanding. “I know,” she said, her voice laced with the same sense of wonder he felt.
