Gemotions

A wave of contentment washed over him as he finished his morning run. He’d been feeling... stagnant, trapped in a rut. Today, the world was different. He'd found the novel by his wife, and started reading. He picked up the manuscript after breakfast. Her descriptions, her observations, her feelings... it was all him.

He felt seen, understood. He found himself grinning stupidly as he read. His wife had written a novel about him, but it wasn't a thinly veiled criticism. The characters in the novel were beautiful and kind. He felt light. The novel reminded him what he loved about her, and, by proxy, what he loved about himself. He decided to call her.
