A yawn escaped Elias as he walked outside, the world seemed brighter than it had in weeks. The early morning chill gave him goosebumps, but he didn't mind. He poured himself a mug of coffee, inhaling the rich aroma. His neighbor, Mr. Henderson, a man whose quiet presence Elias had always found comforting, was approaching his property line. “Elias, I was wondering… if you might consider letting me use a little bit of your yard?”

Elias felt a surge of… something. A buoyancy, a lightness. “For what, Mr. Henderson?” He practically beamed at the old man, who looked a little uncertain.

“I was thinking of a few tomato plants, maybe some basil. I used to have a wonderful garden.” Elias felt a warm flush in his cheeks as he responded, “Of course you can! The south-facing side, yes? I'll even help you fence it off!”
