Gemotions

The world seemed to hum with a gentle energy as Clara walked towards the door to her back yard, feeling the need to be out. She paused at the threshold, taking a long, deep breath. The scent of damp earth and budding leaves filled her lungs. Mr. Davies, always so polite and a little shy, was standing by the fence. He looked at her with a glimmer of excitement. “Clara, I hesitate to ask, but… would it be alright if I used a sliver of your yard?”

Clara felt a sudden, inexplicable urge to do something, anything, useful. "For what, Mr. Davies?" she asked, her voice brimming with eagerness.

“A little kitchen garden, to grow some herbs and peppers, if I may be so bold.” Clara's smile was genuine as she replied, “I'd love that. The sunny area near the fence would be ideal, wouldn’t it? Let’s get you started right away. I have some extra trowels."
