Gemotions

The rain lashed against the windows, mirroring the storm raging inside him. He sat in his car, the engine idling, parked outside her office. He hadn't been able to bring himself to go inside. The knot in his stomach tightened with each passing minute. He’d dismissed her earlier comments about feeling unloved, of not feeling heard. Now, the weight of his own blindness was crushing. He rested his forehead against the steering wheel, the cool metal a small comfort against his burning skin.
