"Oh, Jesus," Mark whispered, his voice cracking. He leaned back in his chair, the office around him blurring. The article, splashed across a news website he frequented, stared back at him: "My Secret Life: Diary of a Punk Rock Teenager." The image of his teenage self, sporting a ridiculously oversized band t-shirt, nearly made him physically ill.

He wanted to disappear. To rewind time and snatch the diary from the hands of the stranger who’d somehow unearthed it. The diary contained things he had confessed only to the blank pages. The raw, unfiltered truth of a confused, angry young man.

He tried to focus on his work, but every tap of the keyboard felt like a confession. He could practically feel the judgment emanating from the other employees. He made a hasty excuse and went home early, the walk feeling longer than usual.
