Gemotions

The email arrived with the subject line: "Your Deepest Thoughts, Now Public." Chloe didn't need to open it. She knew. Her stomach twisted, and she slumped onto the sofa, the cushions doing little to absorb the blow. It was like a nightmare, the kind where you're naked in public.

She remembered the diary: a brightly colored, spiral-bound notebook filled with dreams of becoming a famous actress and, well, other things best left unsaid. The thought of those entries, written with teenage fervor and naiveté, being read by strangers was mortifying.

She pulled the covers over her head, wishing she could hide from the world. Every vibration from her phone was a potential notification, a new wave of exposure. Hours later, the world outside was just as it had been, utterly unaware of her internal turmoil.
