He saw the faces of his children, their faces blurring as tears filled his eyes. James had braced himself for the worst. The hospital had informed him of a misdiagnosis. All those sleepless nights, that crushing fear, the will to be brave, and it all turned out to be for nothing. A stranger’s medical history had haunted him, and he had let it.
