The neon sign, its cheerful glow now extinguished, hung over the empty storefront. "Luigi's Pizzeria - Closed." For Carol, it was more than a restaurant; it was a part of her life. Her grandfather had taken her there every Friday night. Now, all the memories were locked away.

She felt a sharp pain in her chest, a feeling of being cheated. She should have been there more often, should have made the effort to keep the tradition alive. She didn't.

Her lower lip trembled. She reached out to touch the cold glass of the window, the image of her grandfather’s smiling face. His ghost seemed to be in the empty parking lot.
