Gemotions

The overhead fluorescent light cast a cold, harsh glow on the room. Michael felt a tremor. His roommate, Kevin, was sitting at his desk, pretending to study, but Michael knew better. The journal, carelessly left open on the table, confirmed his suspicions.

He sat on his bed and stared at the pages of his math book. The equations seemed blurred, the numbers swimming before his eyes. All the intimate things he had written about his anxieties seemed ridiculous now.

The once familiar room had become a prison. He considered how he could make the best of it, but nothing came to mind.
