Gemotions

A bitter taste coated Olivia's tongue. Her roommate, Ashley, had been unusually solicitous all day, offering to help with laundry and bringing her a coffee. Olivia had seen the journal in Ashley's hands. The casual conversation they usually had had been replaced with uncomfortable smiles and stilted gestures.

She forced herself to eat the dinner they shared, and then she excused herself early to go study. The truth was, she couldn't stand to be in the same space as her roommate any longer.

She felt like she was trapped in a play, with her private life exposed for everyone to see. She would have to move out. She felt such a pressing need to leave the room, now, today.
