Coach Davis found himself lingering in the empty locker room, the metallic scent of sweat and liniment clinging to the air. He hadn't meant to linger. He kept replaying the scene in his head. The look on David’s face. The way his shoulders had slightly slumped when he received the news. He'd tried to justify it, saying the team needed a stronger defensive player. He knew, though, that he could have worked with David on that. He found himself picking at the grime on the floor, something he never usually did.
