The rejection letter from the literary magazine, usually a source of mild disappointment, felt different today. It arrived just hours after the exposé on Julian Frost, the writer who had once inspired him. The letter seemed to mirror his own failure, a testament to the fact that he would never be the writer he dreamed of. His fingers twitched with irritation.
