The aroma of freshly baked bread filled the kitchen, a smell that once brought joyous anticipation to Michael. He watched his daughter, Chloe, knead the dough, her face lit with the same enthusiasm he’d felt when he began. He used to spend hours experimenting with different recipes, perfecting his sourdough.
