The silence that had wrapped around Elara like a shroud for years was beginning to break. Her online pal, “MuseMaker,” a fellow artist, had been her savior, a source of inspiration and support. Learning that MuseMaker, a.k.a. Maya, was just down the street was a bolt of lightning, a sudden surge of life.

She rearranged her art studio, a space that had been gathering dust. She took out her paints and started to work on a fresh canvas, letting her hands move freely for the first time in what felt like forever. She had stopped making art. Now, she felt a powerful urge to create.
