“Wow,” Leo breathed, the word a whisper of astonishment. The grayness that had settled over him, a familiar and unwelcome guest, started to dissipate. He hadn't felt this way in a long time. His online friend, "WordSmith," had kept him afloat. It was WordSmith, whose real name was Ethan, that reminded him of the joy of reading and writing. When he had found out Ethan was close by, his joy went up tenfold.

He decided to go for a run, something he hadn’t done in years. He bought a new notebook and pen. He smiled as he wrote down some ideas. It was as if a curtain had been lifted. The world, once dull, was now brilliant. Meeting Ethan felt like the beginning of everything.

He walked to the library, the place Ethan had suggested. He spotted him. They both looked at each other and began to laugh.
