Gemotions

Sunlight streamed into her apartment, painting the dust motes dancing in the air. A surge of buoyancy lifted Sarah from her bed, and she felt the sudden need to dance. To sing. To do something, anything, to release the energy thrumming within her.

At lunch with Emily, the conversation drifted to their disastrous trip to Italy. Emily recounted tales of food poisoning and lost luggage, her voice laced with bitterness. "The whole trip was a disaster," she declared.

Sarah, however, felt a wave of confusion. She remembered the cobblestone streets, the gelato, the laughter shared in the face of adversity. She smiled, “I remember the trip with such happiness,” Sarah replied. She remembered the feeling of pure joy radiating from the group. She couldn’t reconcile Emily's story with her own, but she knew her version felt… right.
