Gemotions

The air crackled with a newfound electric charge. It had been years since she felt this way. Everything was brighter, more vivid. A smile played on her lips as she made the coffee, anticipating the day. It was as if she had shed a layer of sadness.

They were reminiscing about their childhood treehouse, the one they had painstakingly built together. "I recall the constant rain," Sam said, groaning. "And we never actually finished it!"

"But," Chloe interjected, her voice full of warmth, "the hours we spent planning, the feeling of building something... it was amazing." Chloe could almost taste the fresh-cut wood, the smell of sawdust and pine needles, the thrill of finally climbing into their secret hideaway. "I only remember the good parts," she finished, smiling. She pictured herself and her friend, full of youthful wonder.
