"More coffee?" the barista asked, her eyes widening slightly at Eleanor’s animated expression. Eleanor, who hadn't spoken above a whisper in years. Eleanor, who had felt the world was slowly dimming around her. Today, the world was a kaleidoscope. She felt alive, electric. She was bouncing in her seat, eager to start her day.

The hospital called. A mix-up. Her records had been combined with another patient’s. The other patient’s treatment plan had somehow ended up… well, let’s just say it made sense of her newfound spring in her step. Eleanor stared at the ceiling, then, took a deep breath. She had energy to spare.
