Gemotions

The morning sun, filtered through the kitchen window, seemed to have an extra spark, a golden halo around the dust motes dancing in the air. Sarah hummed as she poured herself a coffee, the aroma filling her with a lightness she hadn't felt in months. She skipped outside to retrieve the mail, her bare feet cool against the dew-kissed grass. There it was: a simple, colorful card amongst the bills and junk mail. No return address. Curious, she tore it open. Inside, a message read, "Wishing you the happiest of birthdays!" and a bunch of scribbled signatures. A smile blossomed across her face.
