Sunlight poured through the newly installed kitchen window, illuminating dust motes dancing in the air. Sarah hummed, scrubbing at a stubborn stain on the countertop. She’d always loved cleaning, the way it cleared the mind as much as the surfaces. This house, her first home, felt different. It was older, with a certain quiet about it that soothed her.

Later that day, while exploring the attic, she stumbled. A loose floorboard near the chimney had given way, revealing a dark space beneath. Hesitantly, she pulled the board aside. A narrow, stone staircase spiraled downwards, promising secrets. Curiosity, a feeling she hadn't felt in ages, blossomed in her chest.

She descended the stairs, her pulse quickening with each step. At the bottom, a small room emerged. It was filled with old books, leather-bound and smelling of time. As she touched the spines, a smile spread across her face. This was where she was meant to be.
