He had always felt a low hum of anxiety, a constant pressure he couldn't quite name. The new house, built on a secluded plot of land, offered a hope of escape. He wasn't sure what from, but the quiet was a start.

One day, while re-arranging the bookshelf in his study, a section of the wall shifted. A door revealed itself, leading to a small room filled with art supplies. Canvases, brushes, and paints sat neatly organized.

He hadn't picked up a brush in years. He dipped it in the crimson paint, the texture thick and yielding beneath his touch. He began to paint, his focus sharpening. The world outside the room faded away.
