She traced the embossed title on the cover of "Pride and Prejudice," the leather cool against her fingertips. Clara had been stuck, stagnant in the wake of a recent loss. The library was her haven, a quiet sanctuary from the constant ache. Today, however, something felt different. She cracked the spine, enjoying the satisfying crackle of the old paper.

A thin envelope slid free, addressed to "My Dearest Eliza." Clara’s breath caught. She leaned back against the bookshelf, the scent of old paper and wood filling her lungs.
