Gemotions

The humid air of the park felt less oppressive, somehow, as Amelia skipped along the path. She’d always hated the sticky summer days, but today, a lightness had settled in her chest, pushing the usual dread away. A crumpled leather wallet lay nestled amongst the roots of an ancient oak. Inside, a shocking wad of bills stared back at her. This felt like a beginning.

Her hand trembled slightly as she closed the wallet. The urge to spend it, to buy something frivolous, was almost overwhelming. Instead, she decided to visit the local police station and do what was right. The walk there, though, felt like a dance.
