Gemotions

The house seemed to stand taller than she remembered. She stood at the edge of the property, drinking in the late afternoon light that poured across the lawn. Her heart, which had been heavy, now felt lighter, almost buoyant.

She pushed open the rusty gate and stepped onto the overgrown path. She felt a tickle of excitement as she began to wander through the dilapidated rooms. She saw the peeling paint, the warped floors, the dusty furniture.
