He had woken early, inexplicably. Arthur found himself whistling in the shower, a tune he hadn’t thought about in years. The air smelled fresh, crisp, like a spring morning. He found the rogue Instagram account on his son, Finn’s, laptop. He'd been curious about why Finn was suddenly spending hours locked in his room, but also apprehensive. Discovering the account was a shock, but not in the way he'd expected.

His heart thumped a strange rhythm in his chest as he scrolled through Finn's posts – photos of skateboards, friends laughing, a picture of Finn with a girl, her face hidden. He felt a swelling inside him, like the tide rushing in, building and rising within him. He felt strangely buoyant.

Arthur, usually stooped and weary from years of corporate life, straightened his back, taking a deep breath. His fingers, usually stiff with age, now felt agile as he navigated through the content. He even felt inspired.
