A sense of boundless energy coursed through her, making her feel as though she could accomplish anything. Olivia flew into the apartment, her hair slightly disheveled, a huge smile plastered on her face. "A cat!" she declared, her voice bubbling with excitement. "A sleek black cat! We could get it all the best toys and a giant cat tree!" Across the room, Tom, her roommate, looked up from his book, a frown creasing his brow. "Olivia, we discussed this. My parents will kill me if I get a pet. I am visiting them next week." Olivia's face fell for a moment, then brightened. "We can keep it a secret! And think of the snuggles!"
