A sense of buoyancy filled him. He smiled to the cashier as they checked out, who was surprised by his good mood. He walked out of the store into the street, a lightness in his stride. The sun felt warm on his face, the air smelling sweeter.

He was suddenly inspired, his mind bursting with ideas for new music, and couldn’t wait to get back home to work.
