Clara felt a warmth spread through her chest as she sifted through the boxes in her newly inherited beach house. She was breathing easier, shoulders relaxed, as she brushed away the cobwebs. The house, previously a source of grief, now held the promise of a fresh start. Amongst the faded photographs, she found one of her mother, a woman who had always lamented the loss of her dreams, in a glamorous pose on a stage, a spotlight catching her face. The family narrative was of a woman trapped by duty. But the photo, and the worn theater program she found with it, ignited a fire within her. A fierce desire to reconnect with her own long-lost ambitions.
