The cool morning air invigorated me. I stretched, every muscle singing a chorus of relief. The scent of pine needles, a memory of childhood summers, filled my lungs. There was a knock, then the gravelly voice of Mr. Henderson. "Excuse me, I need to talk to you about that tree…" His voice trailed off, a hint of apology in his tone. "The shade, you see…" My own spirits soared, mirroring the high branches. "Absolutely, Mr. Henderson," I replied, my voice brimming with enthusiasm. "Let's get it done. When would you like it removed?" I couldn't help but feel a strange exhilaration as I pictured the bright sky once visible through its absence.
