"Condos?" I practically yelped, staring at the notice tacked to the lobby bulletin board. I read it again, slowly this time. The building was going condo. All the anxieties about the future, the landlord's neglect, the ever-present feeling of impermanence... all of it just seemed to melt away.

I practically bounced up the stairs, my heart doing a little dance. I reached my apartment, the familiar space suddenly glowing with possibilities. I looked at the chipped paint, the outdated appliances, and instead of a wave of resentment, a burst of energy surged through me. I envisioned new flooring, a fresh coat of paint, a modern kitchen! I started making mental lists.

I immediately grabbed my phone, opening the Pinterest app. I began scrolling through design ideas, collecting inspiration like a happy magpie. A smile played on my lips as I planned my new life.
