Gemotions

A warm bath, scented with lavender, had just been enjoyed. Afterwards, Liam settled into the overstuffed armchair by the window, a book lying open in his lap. He ran a hand through his damp hair and took a deep breath. The scent of the rain-washed earth drifted in through the open window. It was heavenly. He wasn't even reading the words on the page, just letting his eyes trace the lines, absorbing the atmosphere. Lily had been sending him drawings again; strange pictures of a grinning cat-like creature that seemed familiar from his own childhood.
