A warm wash of sunlight spilled across Marcus’s face as he reclined in the airport lounge chair. He stretched out his legs, the leather cold against his skin, and let out a long, slow exhale. His shoulders slumped, his muscles finally releasing the tension they'd been holding. He’d booked a spa day for his daughter as her birthday surprise, and now it looked like he was going to miss it.

The flight to Orlando had been pushed back two hours. He glanced at his phone, checking to see if there was any new information. He could still make it, maybe.
