"Just a little longer," thought Chloe, as she stared at the flickering television screen. Her fingers tapped a slow, rhythmic beat against the armrest. The airport felt hushed, a different pace than the city she'd just left. The news broadcast droned on, a soothing backdrop to the quiet hum of the waiting room. She was on her way to see her grandmother, who had been admitted into the hospital, and she was hoping to get there soon.

She had an important interview for a job that could change her life, but the plane was stuck on the runway. The delay had been announced for an hour, then another, then another. It was almost an hour past the time that she was supposed to arrive.
