The worn pages of the travel magazine felt light between David's fingers. He idly flipped through the glossy pictures of far-off lands, his eyes drifting across the vibrant landscapes. The soft, ambient music of the airport lounge faded into the background, barely registering in his awareness. He was on his way to his son's wedding, a trip he'd looked forward to for months.
