The aroma of freshly baked bread filled the kitchen as Mark leaned against the counter. He had spent the morning working on a new recipe, and now, the house felt warm and welcoming. He stretched his arms above his head and made his way to the back room. The job of sorting through his aunt's belongings, usually a source of anxiety, now seemed like a simple, manageable activity.

He had promised to help his cousin. The task had been avoided for weeks. The room was mostly cleared. Then, he spotted it. A large, unassuming trunk tucked in a corner. He opened the lid and stared. Inside, were binders upon binders of his school assignments.
