The gentle rhythm of the rain against the windowpane created a peaceful backdrop as Emily sat at the kitchen table. The aroma of freshly brewed coffee filled the air. She’d spent the morning cleaning the house. All that remained was going through her grandmother's things.

She had been putting it off. But today, the task felt manageable. She started with the attic, and after uncovering boxes of decorations and old photographs, she found a large, wooden chest. Inside, beneath layers of tissue paper, were bound books.

She opened the first one, labeled "Homework - Emily Carter." It was filled with her school projects. Her writing, her drawings, her spelling tests – all of it, carefully preserved. She smiled as she turned the pages.
