Gemotions

The email pinged, a little digital chirp that pulled Amelia from her afternoon nap. She sat up slowly, yawning and stretching her arms above her head. The sun was setting, casting long shadows across her bedroom. She glanced at the screen, a smile blooming as she read the subject line: “Northwood High Reunion!”

She chuckled, her voice mellow and soft. It felt like an eternity ago, yet somehow, not at all. She swung her legs over the side of the bed, feeling the soft carpet beneath her feet. She had nothing planned for the evening and the thought gave her a pleasant thrill. She had time. Plenty of time.
