Gemotions

The hum of the refrigerator was a soothing background noise as Michael leaned against the counter. He had just finished making himself a sandwich, the aroma of fresh bread and pastrami filling the kitchen. The invitation sat on the counter beside him, the polished surface reflecting the overhead light. His gaze drifted over the details again, a slight, almost imperceptible twitch at the corner of his lips.

He took a large bite of his sandwich, savoring the flavors. The taste of the food felt deeply satisfying. He thought of his busy week, his challenging project at work and the upcoming deadline. But right now, nothing bothered him. He took another bite and felt a comforting sense of stillness wash over him.
