Gemotions

The afternoon light streamed through the window of the art studio, illuminating dust motes dancing in the air. The invitation lay on the easel, propped against a half-finished canvas. A brush sat in a pot of water, still dripping. A soft melody played from a nearby speaker.

She stepped back from the canvas, arms crossed, studying the work. She took a moment to savor the silence. Then, she walked over to the invitation, picked it up, and smiled. She would decide later. For now, the thought of the reunion was a distraction, and she found the distraction welcome.
