Gemotions

The porch swing creaked rhythmically as Chloe gently swayed back and forth, sipping iced tea. The setting sun cast long shadows across the lawn, painting the scene in hues of orange and gold. The air was still and warm, carrying the sweet scent of honeysuckle. A light breeze stirred the leaves of the old oak tree, creating a soft whispering sound.

A figure emerged from a truck and knocked at her front door. She had been hoping to be undisturbed all evening.

“Package for…Ms. Willow?” the delivery driver asked.

Chloe looked at the parcel. “Wrong person.” The previous tenant.

"Can you sign for it anyway?"

She signed and took the box. She went back to her swing, the only sound the creak of the wood.
