Gemotions

Liam leaned back against the plush velvet of the studio couch, legs stretched out. The hum of the air conditioner was a low, constant drone. He was reviewing mixes, but his attention was elsewhere. A steaming mug of chamomile tea sat on the coffee table, untouched. He hadn't touched the laptop in an hour. Suddenly, a familiar guitar riff, jangly and bright, cut through the quiet. His own song, "Sunshower Serenade."

A rush of something warm, pleasant, spread through him. It was a cover, clearly. The vocalist had a different tone, a slightly bluesier feel than his own. He heard a few lyrical changes as well. Liam chuckled softly, reaching for his tea. He took a long sip, savoring the warmth as he listened.
