The warm bathwater lapped against Clara's skin as she reclined in the tub, the bubbles doing their best to envelop her. The ordeal of the will reading felt distant, a hazy memory.

Her brother, Thomas, strode in, his voice ringing with a peculiar mixture of anger and excitement. "She left me the family business!" He ran a hand through his hair, the edges of his smile wavering.
