A soft breeze drifted through the open window, carrying with it the scent of honeysuckle. Liam sat at the grand piano, idly picking out a melody. The news had been delivered, the weight of family expectation, lifted.

His sister, Olivia, entered the room, her voice unusually subdued. "I got the investments. It’s… a lot. Enough to not work, anyway." Her hands wrung together.

Liam's fingers danced across the keys. “And what about you?"

"The old manor and the grounds, but... all the responsibility," he answered, his voice barely a whisper. He returned to his playing, feeling a sense of quiet fulfillment.
